Outlander Online

From EW:

The wait is over, Outlander fans: Starz has finally found the young woman who will play the daughter of Jamie and Claire.

Newcomer Sophie Skelton has been cast to play Brianna in the series adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling books, EW has learned. For those who don’t know the character, Brianna is described as a striking, redheaded young woman who is strong-minded and intelligent beyond her years.

More importantly, she’s the daughter of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan)!

The network won’t reveal when fans will meet Brianna after the drama returns in April. But in Gabaldon’s second Outlander book, Dragonfly in Amber, Brianna is introduced at the beginning before the action flashes back to Paris in the 1700s.

From E! Online:

“The Main Title sequence of Outlander is an adaptation of my favorite Scottish folk tune, ‘The Skye Boat Song,'” composer Bear McCreary said of the now iconic tune. “I’ve always adored this piece, and felt its well-known lyrical connection to the Jacobite Uprising would make it appropriate for this show. I struggled to connect with the more famous lyrics by Sir Harold Boulton, however. Thankfully, vocalist Raya Yarbrough recalled another set of lyrics by Robert Louis Stevenson, which were much better suited to Claire’s story.  After we altered a few consonants to change the gender of the speaker, they connected even more directly. This lyric video allows these words to shine as it takes us back in time with Claire on her journey.”
